Sunday, June 20th, I attended my first working equitation show put on by New England Working Equitation and hosted by Wind Hill Farm in Loudon, New Hampshire. Working equitation, while popular in Europe, is gaining interest throughout the US and New England. It is comprised of four parts, called trials, which include working dressage, ease of handling (on the obstacle course), speed obstacles, and cattle handling. While we didn’t have phase four at this show, it was incredible to see these horse and rider teams execute their dressage test then run through the obstacle course.
